The TQM Solution
This page presents a Thinking Process Analysis of the failure to implement
TQM. It is based on Larry's personal experiences with success and failure, on
research, and with knowledge of the excellent analysis performed by W. Dettmer
in the Theory of Constraints. The trees are very brief, as they were prepared as
presentation slides. The brevity of the entities is just the way Larry prefers
to write them; some may prefer much more descriptive entities.
NOTE: we are updating and revising this tree for a Quality Progress paper. We
will post the new tree here when it is ready. Please use this tree only for
information. You will find a much more comprehensive tree in Dr. Dettmer's book.
We do not go on to the Prerequisite Tree or the Transition Tree because they
will be specific to the obstacles in each organization.
