Critical Chain Project Management (CCPM)

bullet1 Exploit
bullet2 Task Duration

bullet3 Reduced (No Safety)

Task durations should not include safety time or padding.

bullet4 Mean task time

Task durations should be mean duration.

bullet4 Interesting   Low-risk first

When eliciting subjective estimates of task duration, elicit the longest or 'low-risk' (called pessimistic in PERT) task duration first. The reason is the human mind anchors on the first number selected, and works off of it to estimate the other duration. Note that duration estimates should consider only normal or common-cause variation, not discrete cause variation. Project risk management treats discrete cause variation by identifying and mitigating identifiable special-cause risks.
